The Natural Health Service

Research shows that spending time in nature can be beneficial for improving both mental and physical health. Our Natural Health Service offers members of the public the opportunity to access a variety of guided activities taking place in natural green settings, completely free of cost.

Nature-based activities are known to help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, alleviate anxiety, and even increase concentration and energy levels. Whether it’s a relaxing group walk, focused mindfulness and meditation, or an active conservation project, time spent connecting with nature provides countless benefits for the body and mind.

Sessions are targeted at adults and are welcoming to complete beginners.

To sign up, please choose an activity from the timetable below, and contact the activity lead for further details about registration. Activities are delivered weekly and last for 8-12 weeks depending on the activity of your choice.

Impact

When participants were asked about how the service had benefited them:

“The sessions have helped me develop better balance and flexibility; better co-ordination, concentration, and muscle strength.”

“My blood pressure has gone down. I follow mindful eating. I sleep better.”

“The Natural Health Service kick started my weight loss, having put on 2 stone over Covid restrictions and struggled to lose it, I’ve lost 1 stone over the last 12 weeks. Increased self-confidence and energy – I’m now more active at home and in my own garden and more likely to tackle new challenges.”
